Masoor dal tadka

  • 200 g Red Lentils, cooked
    • 600 g Water
    • 1/2 t Medium-Grain Salt
    • 1 cm Ginger Root
    • 1/4 t Dried Turmeric Root, ground
  • 2 T Neutral Oil
  • 1 t Black Mustard Seed, whole
  • 1 Dried Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 t Cumin Seed, whole
  • 1 t Cumin Seed, ground
  • 1 t Coriander Seed, ground
  • 1/2 t Cinnamon, ground
  1. Temper spices. Heat oil in pan over medium heat. Cook black mustard seed 30 seconds until the seeds pop. Add remaining spices; stir and cook 2-3 minutes.
  2. Finish. Stir in cooked lentils to combine, and cook 5 minutes more.
