Masoor dal tadka
- 200 g Red Lentils, cooked
- 600 g Water
- 1/2 t Medium-Grain Salt
- 1 cm Ginger Root
- 1/4 t Dried Turmeric Root, ground
- 2 T Neutral Oil
- 1 t Black Mustard Seed, whole
- 1 Dried Cayenne Pepper
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 t Cumin Seed, whole
- 1 t Cumin Seed, ground
- 1 t Coriander Seed, ground
- 1/2 t Cinnamon, ground
- Temper spices. Heat oil in pan over medium heat. Cook black mustard seed 30 seconds until the seeds pop. Add remaining spices; stir and cook 2-3 minutes.
- Finish. Stir in cooked lentils to combine, and cook 5 minutes more.
