- 55 g Ketchup
- 1/4 t Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 T Brown Sugar

- 1/4 t Black Peppercorn, ground
- 1/4 t Dried Cayenne Pepper, ground
- 110 g Water
- For Serving
- Hamburger Buns
- Tater tots
Ingredients yield 3 servings.
- Break up beef. Add ground beef and onion to a room-temperature skillet. Cook over medium heat, thoroughly breaking up the ground beef into small pieces as it cooks.
- Season. Add garlic and bell pepper, and cook an additional 3 minutes. Mix in water. Add in remaining sauces and seasonings, and mix to combine.
- Simmer. Mix in remaining water. Bring to boil and reduce to simmer. Simmer 45 minutes, uncovered, until the water has evaporated and mixture resembles a paste.
- Serve in buns
Starting from a cold pan helps the ground beef to crumble into small pieces for the 'joe.
The meat should be able to stand in a heap on a spatula without falling apart.
