Jasmine rice

  • 200 g Dry Jasmine Rice
  • Cool water, for rinsing
  • 320 g Water
  • 1/2 t Medium-Grain Salt
  • 5 g Unsalted Butter (optional)
  1. Rinse rice several times until water runs mostly clear.
  2. Cook. Add rice, butter, salt, and water to a saucepan. Bring to boil, cover, reduce to very low heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Finally, while covered, remove pan from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.
  3. Fluff rice with a fork.
  4. Cool and serve. Allow rice to cool, uncovered, for a few minutes before serving.

Do not uncover the rice while cooking.

Variation: Cilantro Lime Rice

Squeeze the juice of one lime into the rice while fluffing, and bury the lime quarters in the rice until ready to serve. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
